Slack
Team chat and channels for ongoing collaboration.
Integration features
Members will click “Join Slack” on your portalry to launch Slack. Use this checklist to give them a smooth landing every time.
Portalry promotes your permanent Slack invite so members can join your workspace quickly.
What Portalry handles for you
- Detects join.slack.com invite links and surfaces them with a clear "Join Slack" button.
- Pulls the workspace name, description, and icon from Slack metadata when available.
Setup checklist
- Create a never-expire invite in Slack and paste the join.slack.com link into Portalry.
- Choose a default channel for newcomers and mention it in the portal description.
- Test the invite in a private/incognito window to confirm it stays valid.
What still lives in the platform
- Portalry does not manage Slack channels, roles, or provisioning—configure those within Slack.
- If you rotate invites, remember to update the Portalry link so new members can keep joining.
Extras & best practices
- Pin a welcome post in your #start-here channel with community norms and quick links.
