WhatsApp

Instant messaging and announcement groups.

Integration features

Members will click “Join Group” on your portalry to launch WhatsApp. Use this checklist to give them a smooth landing every time.

Portalry shares your group invite so members can opt into updates with one click.

What Portalry handles for you

  • Shows a "Join Group" button styled for WhatsApp.
  • Preserves the group title and icon retrieved from the invite link.
  • Supports private invitation links—replace the link in Portalry if you rotate it.

Setup checklist

  1. Create the WhatsApp group and generate an invite link.
  2. Decide whether only admins can post. Communicate etiquette in the Portalry notes.
  3. If you want to run broadcast lists instead, link to your WhatsApp Channel instead of a group.

What still lives in the platform

  • Portalry does not manage WhatsApp membership or admin rights.
  • Group analytics and message retention remain inside WhatsApp.

Extras & best practices

  • Add moderators as co-admins to help welcome new members.
  • Consider pairing WhatsApp with a Portalry email blast for members who prefer inbox updates.
