Jitsi
Open-source video meetings you can self-host.
Integration features
Members will click “Join Conference” on your portalry to launch Jitsi. Use this checklist to give them a smooth landing every time.
Portalry launches your Jitsi room—whether hosted on meet.jit.si or your own domain—and preserves the join link for every occurrence.
What Portalry handles for you
- Displays a clear "Join Meeting" button using your Jitsi URL.
- Detects Jitsi-powered pages via the og:title tag so self-hosted deployments also work.
- Keeps the room name and description captured from your Jitsi page metadata.
Setup checklist
- Decide on a stable room name you can reuse for recurring sessions.
- Configure any lobby/password settings on your Jitsi server, then copy the full room link.
- Paste the link into Portalry when creating the portal and test it in an incognito window.
- Add joining instructions (e.g., lobby passphrase, etiquette) in the portal description.
What still lives in the platform
- Portalry does not create, secure, or record Jitsi meetings—manage those settings on your Jitsi host.
- Attendance and moderation remain inside Jitsi; Portalry continues to track RSVPs separately.
Extras & best practices
- Reuse the same room for your series to keep reminders consistent.
- If you self-host, enable lobby or token-based access control for extra privacy.
